I don’t care how much you hate the death penalty. I hate it in almost every case, especially since it largely targets POC and the potential to be wrong is chilling.

But Dylann Roof walked into a church, and killed nine people in cold blood while they prayed, in hopes of starting a race war. He is a white supremacist with dangerous ideology, and a sizeable following who need to be told that as a nation we will NOT accept the slaughter of our own people at the hands of fascists.

Yeah, on one hand I do feel that Roof wants to be made a martyr for his “cause”, but on the other it says something very wrong about our society if we allow a man to attempt literal genocide and just end up in the prison system.

I agree with everything @tiltilla said above, but yeah, I definitely do not have a problem with the death penalty here. If that makes me a hypocrite then so be it.
